In 2006, the Parekh Family Foundation was founded to honor the memory of Gunvant and Bharati Parekh, parents of Selene and in lasws of Zankhna Parekh, who emigrated from Mumbai and Ahmedabad to the United States in 1969. Gunvant and Bharati were known for their strong values of education, hard work, and discipline, which are embodied in the Foundation's mission.
